Neurology Service at Bon Secours Hospital Galway provides a wide range of services to meet the needs of patients requiring specialist care.
Services Offered:
- Botulinium toxin clinics for neurological disorders
- Daycare Intravenous infusions in a dedicated unit
- Diagnostic tests which include EEG and EMG studies
- Inpatient care supported by Physiotherapy Services and Occupational Therapy departments
- Nerve conduction studies and electromyography (NCS/EMG)
- Neurology services and consultation
- Routine EEG, Sleep services including sleep deprived EEG (electroencephalography)
- MS Diagnosis tests
Costs:
Routine EEG - €300
Sleep deprived EEG - €325
These are not covered by health insurance as an outpatient service.

Arranging Appointments:
A referral letter is required to be sent from your GP to the relevant consultant.
EMG/NCS appointments are made through a referral letter from both Consultant or GP addressed to Dr M Hennessy, Consultant Neurologist, Suite 7, Consultants Clinic, Bon Secours Hospital, Galway or they may also refer via the Bon Secours GP healthlink referral system.
EEG: A referral letter is required to be sent by fax from your GP or Consultant. For all EEG related enquires please call 091 381921.
