The (M.A.U.) Medical Assessment Unit at Bon Secours Hospital Galway has been developed to provide Rapid Access to Consultant opinion and a range of investigations for acute medical patients requiring emergency care in Galway.
Health Screenings and Medical Assessment Services are available for a wide range of medical conditions EXCEPT:
Following a comprehensive medical assessment and health screening, the patient will be discharged home with a management plan, or be admitted to hospital for further treatment.
There are three levels of charges for patients attending the service depending on the extent of tests required.
All of the above charges include the assessment fee and cost of all necessary investigations. In the event of the patient being admitted, the patient will only have to pay €120 assessment fee. Patients should have an appropriate level of private insurance or an ability to self pay should admission be required following assessment.
