Margaret graduated from UCD in 1984 and has been a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland since 1988. Margaret graduated from UCD in 1984 and has been a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland since 1988. She obtained her Specialist Fellowship in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery from the combined Royal Colleges of Ireland, England, Glasgow and Edinburgh in 1984. Having trained in the UK and Australia, she is on the Specialist Register of the Irish Medical Council.
Her areas of special interest include skin cancer surgery, breast reconstruction and surgery and burns. Margaret has worked in St Vincents University Hospital and St James Hospital where she ran the National Burns unit in St James Hospital for 10 years.
Margaret is a special lecturer in the Royal College of Surgeons on Human Factors & Patient Safety and is currently President of the Irish Association of Plastic Surgeons.
