Bon Secours Hospital Dublin

From Wednesday 1st of July we are delighted to inform our GPs and patients and GP referrers that the Bon Secours Hospital Dublin will resume our comprehensive range of services.  We were very happy to support the HSE during the inital phase of the COVID-19 pandemic and we will continue to provide any support that may be required.

We would like to thank all our patients, referrers and team for your valued support and assure you that, in line with our mission, the Bon Secours Hospital Dublin is committed to caring for patients and staff in the safest possible environment at all times.

Over the past months the Bon Secours Hospital Dublin and through our sister hospitals across Ireland have gained valuable experience in dealing with COVID-19 which has resulted in significant changes to patient care, hospital layout and staff practices. We will continue to be guided locally by our team of consultant microbiologists, infection prevention and control nurses and guidelines produced by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) and the Department of Health.

What we are doing to protect our patients:

  • Adhering to national and best practice guidance on the use of masks, handwashing and social distancing
  • Mapping all clinical areas to ensure adequate spacing between beds and chairs
  • Use of perspex screens in non-clinical areas
  • Equipping all areas and staff with the appropriate level of PPE
  • Additional cleaning and decontamination measures
  • Symptom screening all patients in an effort to provide safer care
  • Judicial use of isolation rooms to limit in-patient contact
  • COVID-19 testing all elective patients who are undergoing an aerosol generating procedure
  • COVID-19 testing all patients via MAU
  • COVID-19 testing any patient transfers from other facilities to ensure we limit infection exposure
  • Advising cocooning for those deemed to be at a higher risk from infection (cancer patients, overnight surgery, immunosuppressed)
  • Restricted visitor access
  • Segregated entry pathways for some patient cohorts (e.g. Oncology)

We look forward to welcoming our patients back through our doors. For further details about the measures we have put in place, the visitor restrictions that continue to be in place and the services that have resumed in the hospital please click here.
