The Day Oncology Department at the Bon Secours Hospital Dublin aims to provide our patients with the best possible care in a welcoming, comfortable and supportive environment.
The Medical Oncology Department administers a full range of Systemic Cancer Therapies - Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, Hormone Therapy and Palliative Care. Patients are referred to the Unit by one of three Medical Oncologists who liaise closely with our Surgical colleagues on a patient by patient basis.
Treatment is tailored according to the individual patient and the type of cancer as prescribed by the Medical Oncologist. It is delivered by our team of specialist and skilled nurses and our medical team with sensitivity and understanding. The length of the chemotherapy treatment depends on the patients’ specific regime but as a patient you will be advised of this by your consultant and nurse on the day.

Most people are able to go about their normal activities. If you are still working, please advise the oncologyy team in the unit who will try where possible to arrange your appointment around your working day. Please note that this might not always be possible but the team will do their best to facilitate it.
