Dr Aileen Flavin is a Consultant Radiation wworking with UPMC Bon Secours Radiotherapy Cork.
She is a UCC graduate who trained in Radiation Oncology in Dublin, Cambridge and Toronto. She worked as a Consultant in Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool before returning to Ireland in 2005 to work in the Mid Western Radiation Oncology Centre in Limerick. She subsequently moved to Cork University Hospital.
Her areas of special interest include breast, gynaecological, haematological malignancies and palliative radiotherapy. She was the NCCP National Clinical Lead for Radiation Oncology in 2020/2021.
She has worked with the International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) on several projects to improve access to and the quality of radiotherapy in low and middle income countries.
She is a member of the UK Global Cancer network and is active in education projects in Nepal.
