On Tuesday, 17th October 2017 Dr Eoin O’Sullivan, Consultant Endocrinologist, BSHC and Ken Joyce, Mission Leader, BSHC went to the Cork Diabetes Care Centre on Mary Street to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open their new Podiatry Room that wsa funded through the BSHC Community Initiative Fund.
The Cork Diabetes Care Centre is the Hospital's local branch of Diabetes Ireland. They help hundreds of people each year (many of whom are poor and living on the fringes of our community) by providing them with vital information, screening, examinations, and follow-up support to help manage their blood sugars. The new Podiatry Room will help the caregivers provide faster care to those they serve, and allow them to expand the number of people they are able to assist!
