Dr. Sami Ahmed (MRCPI - FRCPI) is a Consultant Paediatrician at the Bon Secours Helath System in Cork since 1998, he is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at UCC and Chairman of the Irish Enuresis Advisory group (IEAG)
Dr. Sami received his (MRCPI) in June 1994, (Membership Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health – Ireland), his FRCPI in June 1998 (Fellow Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health – Ireland)
From 1990-1999 Dr. Sami worked in Ireland with the HSE taking time out to work in:
Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital in Scotland in 1995 and in Foothill Hospital, Calgary, Canada in 1997.
As well as general paediatrics, Dr. Sami has a special interest in the following:
Asthma aiming to maintain control of asthma symptoms, normal activity levels, including exercise, pulmonary function as close to normal as possible and to prevent asthma exacerbations, to avoid adverse effects from asthma medications and prevent asthma mortality.
Growth Hormone Deficiency (GH) and Intrauterine Growth Retardation (IUGR) with short stature involving specialised Investigations, GH therapy & Follow up.
Enuresis (bed wetting) involving specialized management, Investigations & Follow up.
Constipation, involving specialised management, Investigations & Follow up.Back to top
