Pat Fleming MB MMSc MCh FRCSI FRCS (Tr & Orth)
Pat Fleming qualified in Medicine from UCC in 1992 and undertook his basic surgical training in the Mercy Hospital, Cork, after completing a Masters degree in Anatomy (1993). His specialist training in Orthopaedic surgery was carried out as part of the Irish Higher Surgical Training program, and he obtained the the Intercollegiate Fellowship Examination in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery in 2003, following which he was accepted to the specialist register in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. This was followed by a period of fellowship training in hand and shoulder surgery, in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. He was awarded a Masters degree in Surgery in 2004.
Pat was appointed a consultant in 2005, and has developed an exclusively upper limb surgical practice. He also runs the undergraduate training program in orthopaedic surgery at UCC, and has published widely in the surgical literature. He is an active member of the Irish Hand Surgery Society and the Irish Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery.Back to top
