For urgent same day appointments please call: 091 480 341.We offer comprehensive assessment for patients who present with symptoms suggestive of cardiac origin. The standard assessment includes diagnostic tests e.g.Electrocardiogram (ECG), Exercise Stress Test (EST), blood tests and a comprehensive review by a Consultant Cardiologist.
Costs
The total fee for this assessment is €350. Where further testing is necessary the fees are capped at €495. This may include Echocardiogram, Holter monitor and 24hour ABPM.

Professor Kieran Daly, MB, BCH, BAO, DCH, MRCPI is a Consultant Cardiologist at Galway University Hospital and Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine at the National University of Ireland, Galway. He is currently the Clinical Lead for the National Acute Coronary Syndrome Programme
Professional Details:
In 1984, Professor Daly was appointed as the first Cardiologist in the Western Health Board and since then he has overseen the transformational development of the Department of Cardiology at Galway University Hospital. He is a founder member of Croà , the West of Ireland Cardiac Foundation and recent Past Chairman of its Board of Directors. Professor Daly is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and the American College of Cardiology. He was recognised as a Galway Person of the Year 2008 for his contribution to the fight against heart disease in the region

Dr Brian Hynes has commenced private practice at the Bons Secours Hospital, Renmore, Galway. He also works as a Consultant Cardiologist at University College Hospital, Galway.
Dr Hynes graduated from National University of Ireland, Galway with an honours degree. He completed his general medical and specialist Irish cardiology training at St Vincent’s, St James’, Mater Misericordiae, and Cork University Hospitals. After a research fellowship at University College Cork, he undertook a two year advanced training sub-specialisation fellowship, in vascular medicine and interventional cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, before returning to Ireland as a Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Mylotte graduated from RCSI Medical School in 2001 and obtained membership of the RCPI in 2004. He completed Irish cardiology specialist training and was conferred with an MD by thesis in 2010. He is among a select group of physicians who also undertook an additional PhD thesis. This PhD concerns Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and emanates from the world renowned Thorax Centre in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.Dr Mylotte then undertook a two-year interventional cardiology fellowship at the acclaimed InstitutCardiovasculaire de Paris, in Massy, France. Darren then completed a further two-year advanced fellowship in congenital and structural heart disease at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. He returned to practice cardiology in Ireland in 2014.
Dr Mylotte is recognized to be an expert in the field of coronary and structural heart disease intervention. He has an extensive publication record in interventional cardiology and has co-authored several cardiology textbooks. In 2012, he was awarded the Young Investigator of the Year by the European Society of Cardiology and received the young author achievement award from the American College of Cardiology in 2013. He is a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, and is an invited faculty member of major U.S. and European scientific congresses. Darren is a member of the editorial board of Euro Intervention and reviews for several high-impact cardiology journals.
Dr Mylotte specializes in general cardiology, and has subspecialty interests in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of ischaemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, and congenital heart disease. This includes the use of the very latest diagnostic techniques and procedures, including cardiac CT, TAVI, left atrial appendage occlusion, and a variety of coronary artery imaging and interventional equipment.
Dr Yvonne Smyth graduated from NUIG in 1997. She completed her internship and General Professional Training in University College Hospital Galway ( UCHG). Thereafter she worked in Beaumont, the Adelaide and Meath and Cork University Hospitals before returning to Galway to complete the Cardiology Specialist Registrar training program. She was enrolled in the specialist division of the medical register in both Cardiology and General Internal Medicine in 2007. Her particular areas of interest are cardiovascular imaging and heart failure. She undertook a subspecialty fellowship in the Cleveland Clinic USA prior to being appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist in Bon Secours Hospital and Kerry General Hospitals Tralee four years ago. She has recently taken up a joint Cardiology/ AMU post in UCHG. She has a MA in Healthcare Management and is a fellow of the RCPI, an ACLS instructor and a reviewer for Heart.
