The role of the Pharmacy is to optimise patients medication therapy and care, through the safe, reliable and efficient supply, dispensing, distribution and control of all pharmaceutical products to ward and retail outlet.

The role of the Pharmacy is to optimise patients medication therapy and care, through the safe, reliable and efficient supply, dispensing, distribution and control of all pharmaceutical products to ward and retail outlet. The Pharmacy Department keeps abreast of Pharmaceutical developments and maintains the highest principles of moral, ethical and legal conduct.

The Pharmacy Department also provides:

  • Appropriateness reviews for medication orders.
  • Co-ordinates the selection and procurement of medications.
  • Co-ordinates the storage of medications throughout the hospital.
  • Retail Pharmacy Service for Private Prescriptions and “Over-The Counter” Medications (GMS service is not available).
  • Medication information support for staff.
  • Antimicrobial Stewardship

Location

The Pharmacy Department is located on the ground floor of the Hospital, adjacent to the Chapel and Restaurant. Our team comprises of Pharmacists, Technicians & Pharmacy Assistants. We deliver a Pharmacy service to both patients & members of the public.
